Biography
This Wild Life in Concert
Never underestimate the waves two guys with guitars can make. Though This Wild Life originally formed in 2010 as a pop-punk group, singer-songwriters Kevin Jordan and Anthony Del Grosso quickly realized they worked better as an acoustic duo, so they scaled it back and cut away from the rest of their colleagues. Coming out of Long Beach, California, the passionate rockers would all but blow up in 2013, when they uploaded a cover of metalcore heroes Bring Me the Horizon's "Sleepwalking" to their YouTube channel; Bring Me the Horizon themselves liked the cover, and the rest was history. This Wild Life signed to Epitaph Records (the same label that gave BMTH their start in the U.S.) shortly after, releasing the acclaimed ‘Clouded,' which was full of intimate and vibrant tunes reminiscent of Death Cab for Cutie's and American Football's quieter songs. Produced by Copeland's Aaron Marsh—a significant boon for the band's cred—'Clouded' led to the band being featured on the Alternative Press' "100 Bands You Need to Know in 2014" list. In 2018, This Wild Life released their buoyant third LP, ‘Petaluma,' a solid step forward for the group toward their emo ideals.
This Wild Life's journey has been laden with numerous great performances and impressive tours—their live shows wrangle their music's essence into a perfect (and perfectly intimate) experience. Right off the bat, they were booked at Vans Warped Tour 2011, going on to perform at the event numerous times thereafter. In 2014, they headlined their first U.K. tour, while later that year they gave performances in Australia for the first time, supporting Jonny Craig. Additionally, they gained some worldwide exposure with their arresting performance of "Roots and Branches" on Season 10 of "The Bachelorette." In 2015 and 2018, they toured with rock group Mayday Parade.
