Biography
DOYLE IN CONCERT:
Doyle Wolfgang von Frankenstein (or Doyle for short) is a menacing presence on stage to say the least. With his signature devilock hair style, skeleton face makeup, Frankenstein-bolt choker necklace, and shirtless body-builder’s physique, he’s like a horror villain come to life. Doyle stomps around stage like a savage beast, pummeling his guitar and his audience’s eardrums in equal measure. Fans of thrash punk and heavy metal will be familiar with Doyle’s style from his work in The Misfits, as well as his stints supporting former Missfits frontman Glenn Danzig. Now helming his own solo project with metal notables Dr. C.H.U.D. (The Misfits) and Alex Wolfman Story (Cancerslug), Doyle is ready to bring his horror show antics to the masses.
BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:
Originally a roadie for The Misfits, Doyle was taught to play guitar by his brother/bassist Jerry Only and singer Glenn Danzig. When guitarist Bobby Steele didn’t show up for a recording session, Doyle stepped up to replace him permanently. The band soon made hardcore punk history, releasing a string of albums and EPs that helped develop the horror punk genre. After releasing albums with Kryst the Conqueror and Gorgeous Frankenstein, Doyle finally began his solo project in earnest with the album Abominator (2013). In addition to his musical endeavors Doyle is an active bodybuilder, often working out with his wife Alissa White-Gluz -- frontwoman of death metal band Arch Enemy.
